The Mosaic Student Film Festival is Rockford's only film festival for students (ages 14-22). It occurs each fall at a venue in the Rockford area and features a screening of original films, a red carpet pre-event, and the opportunity for young filmmakers to connect with their community. Students have the opportunity to create original works and have them presented before their community alongside other budding future filmmakers.

The festival is unique in that not only does it exhibit films created by young Rockford filmmakers, but it also supports the Rockford Rescue Mission by donating its ticket sales directly to the organization. The Mission, amongst other services, serves over 130,000 meals to hungry people in our community per year. Mosaic seeks to honor the Mission's efforts by harnessing the power that film and art have in a positive and creative way.

Founded in 2008, the Mosaic Student Film Festival hopes to unite the students of Rockford and its surrounding areas through the creative and powerful medium of film. The event was started by juniors and seniors at Christian Life High School who desired to create an event that would empower young people to creatively express themselves, while providing them with the means to affect their community in a positive way. To date, the festival has raised over $500 for the Rockford Rescue Mission.
